Sunday Scrappers Hostess Club

I wanted to share the layout we created at this month's Sunday Scrappers hostess club. I used a pattern from the Magic Book, the Believe Paper pack and some shapes cut with the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge.

I'm also looking for some new Sunday Scrappers Hostesses! The new groups will will be starting in January and February I'm looking for members from the Calgary are to join us! The commitment is for 5 or 6 months.

By joining the Sunday Scrappers Club you commit to:

- purchasing $35 worth of CTMH product each month.

- Hosting 1 workshop where you will benefit from the hostess rewards (A minimum of $30 in FREE product). You may choose to utilize my scraproom to host your workshop. Hostesses can also gather outside orders and invite additional guests to increase their rewards.

- attending the monthly scrapbooking workshops where we will create a 2-page layout complete with tips, tricks and techniques.

All members will also receive a free copy of the new 2012 Spring/Summer Idea book (Available in January).

I have another Christmas card to share. I really liked Danielle Benich's card that won the Make it From Your Heart contest so I CASE'd it, creating a standard sized card. I used the Wonderland paper pack, the Art Philosophy stamp set and some ribbon and bling for embellishment. Enjoy!

I needed a Thank-You card with a Christmas theme so I thought I'd share. I used the Roxie paper pack and the coffee cup image from the Wonderland WOTG. The foam on top is made with Liquid Applique and I added some holly, red sparkles and ribbon for embellishment. Enjoy!

Wonderland Christmas Cards

I have a couple of simple Christmas cards to share that I created using the Wonderland paper pack.

For the Joy card, I covered a Dimensional Element heart shape with the striped patterned paper, the fuzzy letter stickers were in my stash and I added a bling button with waxy flax, some white ricrac and rhinestones for embellishments.

For the second card, I used my favorite Martha Stewart snowflake punch (again) and added some chocolate ricrac and adhesive pearls for embellishment

Notice there is NO stamping on either of these cards! Enjoy!

Winter Joy with Mojo

Roxie and Art Philosophy

I got a chance to try out CTMH's new Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and I made a couple of projects to share. I only used a few of the 700 images that are available. The gift bag was cut at 6" and I even cut the scallop half-circle using the cartridge. The 3D rose is one of several flowers that are available and the label and leaves are from this cartridge too. I used the new Roxie paper pack (so fun!) and the sentiment is from the stamp set, Hooray Bouquet. I added some new bling buttons with black waxy flax for embellishment. Enjoy!

I think my favorite paper pack from the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book is Dreamin', I just love the fall colours with that added touch of blue and decided to use it to scrap the photos from our trip to Waterton. I used the WOTG to create this layout, I thought it was perfect to showcase these photos of a beautiful brown bear we saw. Enjoy!

I used this week's sketch from CardPatterns, Rub-On letters and the Retro Tech stamp set. I can hardly wait to get my order!

Winds, Waterfalls and Wildlife in Waterton

I don't have anything creative to share today, we just returned from a family camping trip to Waterton National Park. I'm still unpacking but I have a few photos to share. The sd card on the camera is full, here's why:

We used this fun stamp set called Splendid Day at a Scrapbooking Workshop this past weekend and I couldn't resist making a card with it too. The fence was created using a Martha Stewart punch. The tire swing actually swings thanks to some waxy flax and I added some hemp for a simple embellishment. Enjoy!

I have a layout to share today. After all my hard work in the yard this spring, I wanted to snap a few photos to scrapbook. I used the gorgeous green patterned paper from the Wings Creative Basics collection and the Showtime pattern (Pg 107) from the book, Magic. I adjusted the pattern slightly to accommodate the chipboard title that I inked and added some hemp to. I used the "Bless This Nest" and the "Grown with Love" stamp sets. I added some Canvas Badge Buttons, paper leaves, and twill ribbon for embellishment. Enjoy!

Since I had the Juniper ribbon out and this colour combo on my mind, I finally decided to create my own version of a Wedding Cake card. Harvest Love - Tutorial #4

This week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart is to show off your favorite technique. One of my favorite technique's is creating a sponged sky using foam tools. It's been awhile since I've posted a tutorial (You can find the others listed on the side) so I thought I'd include one with this card.

Here's what you'll need:

Stamp Set: Treasure Life

Supplies: Autumn Terracotta cardbase, Black, Colonial White Cardstock, Sunflower, Autumn Terracotta, Barn Red and Black Ink, Black Brads, Adhesive

Tools: 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Foam Tools, Piercing Tool, Acrylic Blocks

The Tutorial:

Punch a 1-1/4" circle from a Post-It Note. Be sure to punch over the adhesive part so that the circle will stick. Place the "Sun"in the corner of the Colonial White cardstock.

Using a foam tool, apply Sunflower ink to the cardstock. Add light layers of ink, rubbing it on in small circles.

Using a foam tool, apply Autumn Terracotta ink to the cardstock. Rubbing it on in small circles, work from the edge of the card stock towards the centre.

Using a foam tool, apply Barn Red ink to the cardstock, rubbing it on in small circles around the edges only.

Remove the Post-It Note sun. Stamp images on the cardstock using Black ink.

Add black brads to the corners and assemble card.

I really liked this week's sketch at Card Patterns so I decided to play along. Thanks to my friend and downline Ruth, I was able to play with the stamp set, Simple Memories. I made the doily by embossing the image with Silver Pearl embossing powder and then sponging over it with Baby Pink Ink. I thought it was the perfect background for a tea pot and cup. The sentiment is from the Card Chatter Birthday set. Enjoy!

I have a couple of cards to share tonight using the Hope for Japan stamp set. I paired this beautiful winged-heart image with the Sweetheart paper pack from CTMH. I coloured the wings with a white pencil crayon before sponging the cardstock with Baby Pink ink. I added some bitty sparkles and ribbon for embellishments.

Sweetheart, Rolled Roses and a Little Mojo

It's been awhile since I've played along at Mojo Monday, I like this week's sketch so I thought I'd give it a try. I saw a great video by Christine from Create With Christine on how to make these rolled paper roses. They really are easy and can be made fairly flat so you can add them to cards. I used patterned paper from Sweetheart and the sentiment is from the stamp set Tea Time. I added some punched leaves, pearls and some pink satin ribbon for embellishment. Enjoy!

I have a yummy card to share today! I loved THIS set of cards created by Lisa Stenz so I had to CASE her cupcake. I picked up some new ribbon from Michaels, 'cause you can never have enough, and I was inspired by the purple satin. I sewed a running stitch along one edge of the ribbon and pulled the thread to gather it into a little rosette. I added an adhesive pearl for the finishing touch! The cupcake was created using the new Scallop Circle Punch from CTMH and the patterned paper is from the Bliss Paper Pack. Enjoy!

I needed to make another boy's birthday card and the first stamp set I thought of was Birthday Blast with the cutest dragons ever. I used CTMH's new Kraft paper with some patterned paper from Lucky. I decided to give him some fiery breathe and I added some twill and brads for embellishments. Enjoy!

Tea Time in Pink

I found some time over the weekend to ink up my new stamp set from CTMH called Tea Time. I was in the mood for something kinda girly so I used some patterned paper from Sweetheart and some pink ink and bling. The tea cup has been popped-up and I added a little ribbon for embellishment. Enjoy!

Krazy 4 Kraft Borders

Maybe I got a little carried away with the new Kraft borders on this card, but I like how it turned out. It was also a great way to use up some scraps, including more corrugated letters. Mayberry with Krafty Borders

One of my favorite new products from CTMH are the Color Ready Kraft borders. I used 2 different borders on this card. You can easily ink them to match any colour, but I love the natural look of the kraft. I used the Mayberry paper pack with the WOTG stamp set (again!). The letters are from Jillibean soup and I added some waxy flax, a paper flower and a button for embellishment.

Irresistible Mayberry and a Sketch Challenge

I found a sketch on Papercraft Star blog by Liz Chidester. I always love her sketches, so I thought I'd play along. I used the Mayberry paper pack again, the WOTG stamp set and some Kraft paper. The letters are CTMH's new Irresistibles Eclectic Die-Cuts. They come white and have a pattern printed on them that's resists the ink, so fun! I added some mocha pearls, a wooden button and ribbon as embellishments. Enjoy!

Thinking of Spring and a Curtain Call Challenge

I was inspired by this week's Curtain Call Color Challenge and the new paper pack from CTMH called Sophia. Spring is still months away, which I was reminded of thanks to the recent snowfall we got here in Calgary, but the bright colours in the photo got me thinking of sunshine and flowers. I used a crimper to add texture to the Sweet Leaf cardstock, a paper flower, ribbon and a button made easy embellishments. Enjoy!

More Bliss

I'm just loving the new Bliss paper pack and the WOTG stamp set from Close To My Heart. I pulled the peach satin ribbon out of my stash and thought it would add just the right touch of colour to these cards. The roses are stamped in Sorbet ink and I added a couple of brads as embellishment.

I used the same peach satin ribbon to create another ribbon rose for this card. The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch and the lace trim is SU.

Happy Birthday Dragon

When I saw this new stamp set in the Spring/Summer Idea Book, I knew I had to have it! It's called Birthday Blast and includes images of some of the cutest dragons ever. There's even super cute accessories including a castle, a present and this super sweet dragon balloon! I used a scrap of patterned paper from the new Lucky paper pack, a buttons and some brads for simple embellishments.

I'll be entering this card in the Wee Memories challenge this week, which is "Anything goes!"

Sneak Peek at Bliss

When I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World I was inspired to break out the romantic new paper pack from CTMH called Bliss, available February 1! I also used this week's sketch from Card Patterns and the Bliss stamp set from the WOTG. I made the ribbon rose with cream coloured satin ribbon, the tutorial can be found on Scrap A Little, along with lots of other hand-made flower instructions. I added die-cut leaves and mocha pearls as embellishments. Enjoy!

Quick Valentines

I have a couple of quick cards to share today. My friend Ruth is organizing a Valentine's card drive for the Southern Alberta Ronald MacDonald House, a fantastic organization that provides for families of sick kids receiving treatment at the Children's Hospital. I created these simple cards using the stamp set, A Little Everything and these fun Martha Stewart glitter heart stickers. I was inspired by a card in the new Spring/Summer Idea Book (pg 99). Enjoy!

Sneak Peek at Lucky

My product preview order arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to play with my new goodies. My favorite line in the 2011 Spring/Summer Idea Book is called Lucky. Not only are the papers masculine, vintage and fabulous, there are some fun new coordinating embellishments too. I used Liz Chidester's sketch from the Sweet Peach Crop Shop to scrap these cute photos of my nephew. I also used the coordinating Stickease, the new journaling spots, chipboard pieces and wooden buttons.

All "Lucky" products will be available February 1, 2011.

I've been waiting all week for the delivery man to bring my new goodies but he still didn't show up. No new paper for me to play with this weekend. I did have this one new stamp set I've been wanting to use though. It's the Stamp of the Month for May but I couldn't resist pairing these chairs with this wood sheet I had in my stash. Some simple brads in the corner add a fun touch to this masculine card. Enjoy!

Wings Valentine

I can't seem to put this Wings paper pack away. I saw a card Jody Gustafson had posted on her blog and I was inspired to make a Valentine card for my DH. (I think he may be getting a few this year!) I made my own shimmer mist using re-inker, pearl paint and water in the new spray pen. It works great on the white Dimensional Elements from CTMH. So fun! It really does shimmer IRL. Enjoy!

I have another card to share using the new Wings paper pack and the January Stamp of the Month, Find Your Style. I just love these new products, I can't wait for more new goodies to arrive. (They are on their way!) I really wanted to use this dress form image, I think it's my favorite in this stamp set and I hadn't used it yet. I had a tiny scrap of black lace left that I added along the bottom and some black rhinestones for some stylish embellishments.

I've already completed my first scrapbook page of the year! I used the Mistletoe paper pack and this week's sketch from The Scrappiest for this layout featuring pictures of my son at his Christmas concert. It was impossible to get photos during the performance so I snapped these in the band room afterward. He's the last of the three boys that is still in the school band, so I won't get too many more photo opportunities. Thanks for looking!

Thinking of Spring

I know that technically it's not even winter yet, but the new paper pack from CTMH has me thinking about spring. The reverse side of half of the papers in the new Wings collection is this fun and bright green, Sweet Leaf. I needed more Thank You cards for my members over at the Big Red Scraps NING Art Gallery, so I created this one using the punched flowers I made for the Punchy Tip in the previous post. I hand cut some leaves and added some pearls as embellishment. Enjoy!

More Wings and Tip #2

I had a few scraps left of this fun new paper from CTMH so I thought I'd make another card. I used this week's sketch from CPS, the Wings paper pack (available January 1) and my Martha Stewart butterfly punch again. I've been asked how to get the butterfly different colours, so I thought I'd include a Tip to show you how.

Tip #2 - Coloured Butterflies

First, punch out the butterfly image from black cardstock.

Use the negative in the black cardstock as a template and trace the butterfly onto coloured cardstock.

Adhere to the back of the punched image with a glue pen. Easy right?

This technique will work with a variety of detailed punches and any colour cardstock. Try it out!

Let It Snow with Magic

My product preview won't be here until later this week so I took advantage of the opportunity and made a few cards. I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch, sparkles and ribbon for embellishments.

Snowflakes in Pink

I created a few quick Christmas cards to give away over at the Big Red Scraps NING Art Gallery, I thought I'd share them here too. I only had a few scraps left of this fun pink patterned paper from last year's Jingle paper pack so I added some Blush cardstock and punched snowflakes. The sentiment is from the Tannenbaum stamp set, I embellished with ribbon and buttons. Enjoy!

Polar Bear's Winter Wonderland - Tutorial #3

When I first saw THIS card by Lorrinda, I knew I had to make a polar bear with the Nature's Gift stamp set too. I haven't posted a tutorial in awhile either so I thought I would include one with this card.

Here's what you'll need:

Stamp Sets: Nature's Gift, Snow Flurries, Warm Memories (Retired)

Supplies: Sky Cardbase, Pacifica, Sky, White Daisy Cardstock, Sky and Pacifica Ink, VersaMark, White Embossing Powder, Silver Brads, White Gel Pen, Post-It Notes, Adhesive

Tools: Foam Tools, 1" Circle Punch, Scissors, Piercing Tool, Acrylic Blocks, Heat Tool

The Tutorial:

Punch a 1" circle from a Post-It Note. Be sure to punch over the adhesive part so that the circle will stick. Place the "Moon" in the upper corner of the White Daisy cardstock. Tear additional Post-Its along the adhesive to create a rough edge. Place over cardstock approximately 1.5" inches up from the bottom.

Apply Sky ink over cardstock with a foam tool. Add light layers of ink by rubbing it on in small circles.

Apply Pacifica ink with another foam tool. Making small circles, work from the edges in.

Stamp the tree using Pacifica ink. Emboss the Bear image, using White embossing powder, onto a piece of Sky cardstock.

Cut out the Polar Bear image. Move the torn Post-It down the cardstock, apply Sky ink very lightly to create some dimension to the landscape.

Remove the Post-Its, adhere the polar bear and stamp the sentiment in Pacifica ink.

Add touches of snow to the tree and stars in the sky with a White gel pen.

Add brads to the four corners, assemble card.
